Dr. Rodriguez will conduct a parent support group via Telehealth video. The theme of this session will be “Communication skills for parents”.
The purpose of this group is to support the child’s parents in understanding, managing, and improving their communication skills with the children in their care. Dr. Rodriguez will provide tips for improving communication, including the use of “door opener” statements, use more “dos” than “don’ts”, and the use of “I” statements to communicate. The parents will have the opportunity to participate by sharing their personal experiences, asking questions and providing feedback to their peers.
